If you’re one of those, here are some tips that can help you prevent the joint pain from worsening during winters.

  1. Keep yourself warm

Wear breathable but warm layers of clothing to keep your joints warm. Compression gloves and socks can help keep your hands and feet warm, which are most quickly affected by cold weather. Keep an extra pair of socks and gloves while traveling, just in case the weather worsens. Keep the indoor temperature warm as well. Dress according to the climate you live in and arrange warm clothes if you’re traveling to a place with cold weather.

Less exposure to the sun during winters can lead to Vitamin D deficiency, which can wreak havoc on your body. A low level of Vitamin D can make people more sensitive to arthritis pain. Regularly check your vitamin D levels in check, and you can also consult your doctor on whether you should take Vitamin d supplements.

  1. Warm bath soak

Soaking your body in a warm bath during winters is not only soothing for your muscles but also your joints. Adding a drop or two of your favorite essential oil can also have a soothing effect on your whole body.

  1. Up your intake of anti-inflammatory foods

Foods with anti-inflammatory properties can be helpful in many ways, one of them being joint pain relief. Omega-3 fatty acids also have anti-inflammatory properties such as fish, seeds, nuts, etc. Other anti-inflammatory foods are garlic, turmeric, green tea, onions, leafy vegetables, etc.

  1. Get a massage

Self-care is essential when it comes to your health. Getting a massage now and then can make you feel relaxed. However, getting a massage from an experienced person can help you with your blood flow. Moreover, it can provide relief to your joints.
